I know what you mean. Well known character actor from the black and white British films of the 50's and 60's. All you have to do is remember the title of ONE of these flics and you'll find him!!
I associate him with war films amd light comedy roles so one can almost make a list of the best of these and work backwards and, once again, you'll probably find him in IMDB.

International Movie Database.

If you do a search on any actor the imdb entry for him/her is usually the first or one of the first to come up.

I've seen this guy in so many films over the years but I can't pin down a single title!!!!!!

Thanks ever so much. His CV is extensive isn't it!! Have you seen the Ad? All the things he says he's done are obviously in film form. Clever though. Happy New Year

Yes, it's a good ad because by using that kind of fine, old character actor who rings lots of bells in our minds (even if we couldn't recall his name!) we half think the chap's actually done all those things!

There are other actors like that..Jeremy Brett, Daniel Massey, Peter O'Toole etc who look as though they've really lived.

Probably all liked nothing better than curling up with a good book at the end of the day!!

armycadet, go to:

www.lastminute.com/

and close to the top of the page on the right you will see "Watch the TV ad" where you click on. There is also a facility to send it to a friend as well as watch it so I assume you can down load it for yourself as well.
